Amazingly, in 2007, Finos Films has released the Greek film Theodore and the Double Barrel Shotgun from 1962! This vintage film appears the be the absolute oldest recording involving our beloved Vangelis, and indeed, The Forminx! I often wondered about the report of this film being from 1962, and the dates that The Forminx were releasing their singles around Greece. This release confirms the date of 1962...The Forminx truly did have several years of existance! In this film, which centers around Mr. Theodore, his gun, his daughter, and his overprotectiveness of her, there is a scene in which the daughter goes off to a party. The band playing? None other than our beloved Forminx, with Vangelis pounding away on the piano. The name of the song is not revealed, but no matter. It's great! Vangelis looks so young! It is incredible to see him like this; young, laughing, bouncy, and no facial hair! If you have any interest in Vangelis history, you need to track down this DVD. The best part is that both Greek DVDs I have found have English subtitles!
