Mamma Luna/Teresa la Vispa Italian 7" picture sleeve frontI can't say a whole lot about this band, other than the fact that they have been performing since the 60's, and have a following in their home country of Italy. There is some dispute in the inclusion of this band in the Vangelis collection. Once upon a time, when Spheric BV (Vangelis' publisher) was run by a different person, a list of all the songs under control of Spheric BV was given to a fan. In that list was the song "Mamma Luna" from 1976. After doing research of my own, I found that this song was performed by I Nuovi Angeli. Vangelis is not listed as the composer or lyricist. So why is it owned by Spheric BV? It's not like I Nuovi Angeli could not find a publisher for the track, they were a well-established band that recorded numerous tracks before and after this song. I believe that Vangelis plays uncredited on this track. The single "Mamma Luna/Teresa La Vispa" is produced by his brother, Nico O. Papathanassiou. It has that Italian Vangelis sound to me... The single is not extremely difficult to find, and should be had for less than $20.
