In the Spring of 1996, a new Vangelis title was announced. 10 years after his contract ended with Polydor, Vangelis still worked out a deal for them to release two previously unreleased songs on a compilation album. Themes was certainly a very successful compilation for Polydor, so why not do another one? The first new track is "Sauvage et Beau", the opening theme to the Frederic Rossif film. The second new track is a new version of "Hymne", actually performed during his 1991 concert in Athens, as well as played as the finale of the Eureka show in Rotterdam. Vangelis also remastered this disc, and added some nice effects between several of the tracks. Polydor was kind to collectors and released a single for "Sauvage et Beau". They even made a promotional black polo shirt with the Portraits logo on it! If you have an original promotional videocassette of "Sauvage et Beau" for sale, please sell it to me!
